    Q.Why is there a new fireproof rope/wool/string Lantern available now?

A.Because some wildlife groups and powerful lobbyists (the Farmers Union being one of        them) have been advised ( wrongly in our opinion ) that the wires could be harming wildlife

     and farm stock if ingested ( although at this point in time i have only heard of one such                 incident).This has forced suppliers to find new technology so as to take the wire out of

    the equation  entirely.The new type rope would pass harmlessly through the digestive system         of any animal  unfortunate, or unlucky enough,to eat it.

   Q.What is the situation regarding the wire used in Sky Lanterns?

   A.They are still OK to use as they will biodegrade,but they will simply take more time ( usually          about two weeks or so ). And we sincerely believe they do no harm,either to the                               enviroment,or  wildlife in general.

  Q. Do Sky-Hi-Lanterns harm the environment?

  A. No,Unlike some other Lanterns, Sky-Hi-Lanterns are made from biodegradable materials,            RicePaper or  Mulberry paper, on a Bamboo frame and once the fuel cell has burned out the          lanterns float gently back  to the Earth.

 Q. Are there any important safety features to be aware of ?

 A. Our Sky-Hi-Lanterns are generally very safe . You must be cautious, as you would with                 fireworks or  any other object that involves a naked flame.Please read the Safety                         instructions provided carefully.

 Q. How do you light Sky-Hi-Lanterns?

 A. Remove from the packet ( being carefull to Recycle it). 

     open out the Lantern carefully and gently waft it to and fro to allow it to fill with air ( dont        worry,you will  get the hang of it when you have launched a few).

     Use a lighter to light the Fuel Cell, ensuring equal burn on several corners.

     You can light the protective wadding but we recommend lighting the fuel cell directly.

     It should be left to burn until the Sky Lantern has filled sufficiently with hot air that it               wants  to pull out of  your hands.

     Release the Sky-Hi-Lantern with both hands, and be suitably impressed as it floats away              silently and  Magically.

 Q. How high do Sky-Hi-Lanterns fly?

 A.The sky is really the limit although there are certain factors that will improve performance.

     Such as wind speed ( or lack of it),Temperature,location ( In a valley or high on a hill ) Etc.

 Q. What are the best conditions to use Sky-Hi-Lanterns in ?

 A. Calm conditions with perhaps a little wind ( no more than 5 mph )

     A little light drizzle or after rain humidity would be OK but certainly not in any  heavy rain as      the Rice/Mulberry paper would become too heavy to launch and would certainly disintegrate.

     Open spaces free of any obstructions or overhead power/telephone cables would be ideal.

     Very high cloud cover would be OK,but a clear sky would be perfect.

 Q. Are they easy to assemble and release ?

 A. No assembly is required as all our Sky-Hi-Lanterns come fully assembled and ready to fly out       of the packet.

     Individuals can light and release them but we recommend two people or more if they are               releasing them as "Wish Lanterns"

 Q. I am not sure about paying online,you hear such horror stories,is your checkout safe ?

 A. We now use Paypal for our online payments.
